From 31 December 2026, the harmonised EU rules for materials in contact with drinking water under the Drinking Water Directive (Directive (EU) 2020/2184) start to apply. The European Positive Lists (EUPL, Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/367) are becoming the gateway to the EU market, and the first deadlines are close: renewal applications for entries expiring in 2028 must be submitted by July 2027.
