Through a Baekelandmandaat, ARCHE Consulting attracted PhD student Karel Vlaeminck to conduct applied research within the context of his doctoral thesis. Such a mandate facilitates doctoral research in an industrial environment, based on the philosophy that collaborations between knowledge institutions and companies create new ecosystems and economic added value. Within his PhD thesis, Karel Vlaeminck worked on applications of mechanistic effect models to chemical mixtures and the impact on aquatic invertebrate populations.
